Brad Kamcheff
Brad was born on September 8th, 1969 at Highline Hospital in Seattle, Washington to Melvin and Marilyn (Paulk) Kamcheff. He passed away at home in Kirkland, Washington on December 26th, 2023. Brad was named in the Bulgarian tradition of honoring his father’s name (Melvin), a name of his own (Bradley), and his maternal grandfather (Merle).
From an early age, Brad was energetic and loved to run, playing Select Soccer for several years. Growing up he was close to his family and enjoyed summer camping in Eastern Washington, particularly near the Teanaway River, where he hiked, fished, and found great fun in rock hounding. Brad graduated from Hazen High School and went on to Bellevue College before he found a work family at Aiphone Communications. He was employed there for 35 years, most recently leading the Marketing department. He traveled frequently for his company, and always made a point to use his spare time finding out-of-the-way local attractions.
Brad married Karen Sand on August 9th, 1998. They were blessed with two children, Wren and Krista. Brad was a devoted father who adored sharing music, concerts, camping, hiking, road trips, and many other outdoor adventures with his kids.
Brad loved attending concerts and listening to music, especially country, blues, bluegrass, and rock-n-roll. He enjoyed playing guitar, feeding neighborhood crows (his “crow-mies”), scouring sea glass beaches, and wire-wrapping his findings into beautiful jewelry. He was a phenomenal cook and expressed love through food. Brad was very generous and passionate about helping others; an amazing friend with a gift for making people feel special. He lightened rooms with his “punniness”, Dad jokes, and risqué humor that will be missed by many.
Melvin Bradley Merle Kamcheff, known to loved ones as Brad, is survived by his wife Karen Kamcheff, children Wren and Krista Kamcheff, mother Marilyn Kamcheff, and sister Karrie Kamcheff. He is also survived by cousins, many friends around the world, and his beloved dogs, Ella and Nova.
He is preceded in death by his father Melvin Kamcheff, grandparents Charlie and Laura Kamcheff, and grandparents Merle and Charlotte Paulk.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MusiCares or a favorite pet shelter.

Brad, growing up together you were the closet thing to a brother I had, even though cousin is technically what what we were. We always would celebrate Christmas together and most holidays. Many times camping and fishing in Eastern WA. Looking for pictures for your celebration I have found many Halloween photos of the 3 of us in costume. Your mom was really great to include me.
I am really glad we started having our lunches a couple of years ago. I will have that time to cherish getting to know YOU better.
My condolences to your family. I am heartbroken for them all. You have left us way too soon.

Brad was the best a hockey dad could be- always positive and supportive, and great fun to be around. I’m saddened by his passing and keeping Karen, Krista, and Wren in my thoughts.

Though Brad may be gone from this world, he will forever live in our memories and in our hearts. Karen, Wren, and Krista, please accept my warmest condolences. I had the pleasure of growing up and hanging out with Brad from grade school through high school and some recent Facebook messaging trying to hook up hear in Denver for some music. Brad will truly be missed.
So sad to lose Brad so suddenly and so young. I hope his spirit is staying close to his family, watching over them during their griefing process and helping them remember all the good times, putting smiles on their faces and in their hearts.

I only got the pleasure of hanging out with Brad a handful of times over the years but it was always memorable and we had a good laugh…especially at the Paint & Sip class we all took. Brad’s painting was the best!

You made me fear Company Golf Tournaments but at the same time gave me such great joy to be included in these frantic foray’s

Getting to know Brad when the girls played on the Wilds hockey team was such a pleasure! He was always so kind, funny, and thoughtful.

I got to know Bread during the hockey years. He was in charge of the music, he was so much fun and all the girls on the team loved the fun music he played. He always seemed to find a way to make everyone around him laugh. Such a big loss, he will be missed. Rest in peace Brad.
I was blessed to have known Brad and his family at a very difficult time of my life, and he was a friend when I needed one. I was honored to have also gotten to know and love his beautiful wife Karen, and his lovely children, Wren and Krista. Hearing them talk about their father was amazing! I lost my dad when I was about their age, and they are handling things with such grace. Brad is, was, and always will be proud of them! His family meant the world to him, and he will always be remembered in their love, and the love of all who knew him ❤️
