Steven B Noel
Steven B Noel passed away peacefully at home on April 29th after a long battle with cancer. His wife Catherine, brother-in-law Kevin, and sister-in-law Sue were by his side.
His 62nd birthday was celebrated on April 15th with friends and family visiting with him throughout the day. He enjoyed the laughter, memories and stories that were shared.
Steven was born In Portland, Oregon, moved to Oklahoma where he lived until he was four, then spent the remainder of his life in the Seattle area. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1977, Shoreline Community College in 1979, and attended the University of Washington. He has maintained friendships from those times, including Kindergarten and elementary school.
During his college years, Steve fished in Alaska during the summer and spent time at Lake Tahoe bar-tending and ski instructing. He eventually landed at Harry’s Good Time Bar on Queen Anne where he met his future wife Catherine, the sister of one of his co-workers. After that he went to work at the family business, Cork Insulation and Sales Company where he worked for a number of years.
Steve continued to work in the construction materials business as a sales rep, sales manager and branch manager, ending up at Insulfoam where he has been for the last 6 years. He made many lasting friendships in the industry, which he greatly valued. One of Steve’s passions was riding motorcycles, particularly his 2009 BMW 1200GS Adventure, which he took on a number of trips with his “crew,” the Road Hogs. He so looked forward to those trips each year.
Steve liked trying new things – he tried scuba diving, piloting ultralights, and even playing the saxophone.
He enjoyed meeting new people while maintaining old friendships from childhood.
Dogs were another passion, reflected by the 4 Bernese Mountain dogs he owned and the 1 Chihuahua which owned him.
Steve enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Catherine Noel, née O’Rourke, stepmother Patricia Noel, sisters Cherie, Carol and Tricia along with 5 brothers-and sisters-in-law, and their spouses, along with 22 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
