Twila Mae Talbot
3/17/1921-1/25/2021
Twila Mae Talbot passed away peacefully on 1/25/2021 after a full life of 99+ years. She was born to Lester and Mary Stewart in Leon Iowa on 3/17/1921. She was the second child of 7 with 3 brothers (James, Jack. Jerry) and 3 sisters (Norma, Doris, Dixie).
Twila’s parents moved to Emmett Idaho in the 1930’s where she eventually met and married Charles W. Talbot on 12/16/1937. They had 3 children (Kathleen, Stephen and Mark) over the next 13 years, all in different states (Idaho, Washington and California). They eventually landed in Seattle WA and then moved to Bothell WA in 1959. They lived there until 1982 and relocated to Spokane Washington to be with all 3 Children who resided in Spokane WA.
Twila was a devoted wife, Mother and homemaker and raised her children with a loving helpful hand. Life threw here a curve in 1986 when she lost her daughter, Kathleen, and son-in-law, Larry Morse (Buddo) in a tragic auto accident. This was a life changing event for her but she continued to be a pillar of strength for all. 1986 continued to be a trying time when she lost her husband of 49 years, Charlie, to a sudden heart attack.
Twila was a fighter though and continued to be the fun loving and supporting Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend to everyone. She moved to Selah WA in 1987 to be closer to her brothers and sister and their extended families then moved to Issaquah WA in 1996 to be closer to her sons. She remained in Issaquah up until the last 7 months of her life where she lived with son Mark until passing.
Twila loved life and lived it to the fullest, always up for doing just about anything and everything. She had loving relationships with all her relatives, nieces and nephews as well many other acquaintances. She will be very much missed by all who had the opportunity to get to know her and experience her great sense of humor, quick wit and caring ways.
99+ years is a long time to live life. She was preceded in death by both parents, all her siblings, Husband Charlie, Daughter Kathleen and unfortunately many others that she loved. She remained strong through out each loss and continued to keep as positive an outlook on life as possible.
She is survived by her two sons (Stephen and Mark), their wives (Vernie and Penny), 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
Twila will be missed by all who had the pleasure of getting to know her, have a toddy or two with her, and listen to the occasional jokes that she imparted on us. She is a legend in our families lives and will live on forever in our memories.
Twila will be placed to rest with husband Charlie and Kathleen and Buddo in Spokane WA. No services are planned at his time. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at the appropriate time.
