Daphne! You will remain in my heart for ever! We never met in person, but because you were in my drawing class online for so long, and because we both were so verbal, we got to know each other quite well. I feel like you live across the street from me, then and now.
Your sharp intelligence, feisty wit and spirit, and your gentle concern for others always made me very drawn to you, wishing we were neighbors in the same town!
I never thought internet classes made any sense, until I started teaching and met women like you, who are full of wisdom and kindness, with glowing spirits that mingle and enlarge each other. You shine bright, in life and afterwards, in my world, and will always do so. I will always know it’s you, when I see a Ginkgo leaf or a hummingbird.
I know you will stay with your David all the time, but I also believe you can be more than one place at a time. So know that those of us who consider ourselves your best friends always have you in our hearts and welcome your company any time, all the time.
Keep making the world a better place, dear Daphne. Much love, Susi
I was in many online drawing classes and felt like I knew her through her art. I will miss her and remember her.
Dear big sister, I miss you. I remember when we were kids sharing a basement room in Great Falls. You were my heroine, excelling in high school and receiving a scholarship to study in France. You taught me to love books. Later I came to Seattle and stayed in your dorm room at the UW. We laughed a lot and listened to Carole King. After you passed, I saw your drawings and remembered your hope and idealism. Rest In Peace.
