Betty Romero
Betty was born in Seattle, Washington on 29 May 1936. Her father Eric and mother Virginia raised five children. Betty was the second of five siblings and was raised in the Kenmore/Bothell area.
Betty married at the young age of 14 to Reuben Thompson and had Christy and Stacey at ages 15 and 17. She later would remarry the love of her life Richard Romero in 1960. Betty and Richard had three children; Rebecca (Becky-deceased), Richie and Shawn. They were married 55 years when Richard peacefully passed away in August 2015.
Betty will always be remembered for loving her children, family and friends unconditionally. She thoroughly enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren in every aspect. She also enjoyed serving and helping others in the community.
Betty and Richard owned a small Cafe’ (Romero’s Cafe”) in Lynwood, Washington and was an expert 
waitress serving in many restaurants in the Edmonds Community. She loved Kenny Rogers, her dear friends (Arlene, Sandy and Shirley to name a few) and would be most comfortable sharing a glass (or two) of wine at her home while entertaining company. Some of her other favorites were spending time on Edmonds beach, battling the winds of Ocean Shores, and enjoying the unique Seattle nightlife (in her younger years) with Richard.
Betty was a member of St Hilda St Patrick Episcopal church in Edmonds. She enjoyed volunteering for church events that included working in the Kitchen and setting up for church activities.
Betty is survived by her children Stacey, Richie and Shawn to include twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She battled Alzheimer’s disease for over four years and is now resting peacefully in heaven. She was a perfect example of love and kindness and would do anything for anybody-regardless of the matter. Betty will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

My condolences to the Romero Family. On one of my trips to Seattle, to visit my cousin Ludy and Shawn. I met both Betty and Richard they were friendly and talkative, they made me feel welcomed at their home, there was some type of gathering it was a full house, both took time to talk to me. They a very nice couple.
They both are gone physically but their spirit remains in everyone’s heart. Now for sure Betty has no more pain and is now reunited with the love of her life her Richard, for Eternity. May you all find peace in your heart’s God Bless you all.
