Robert Anthony Moore (“Bob”)

Robert Moore

Robert Moore was born on June 19, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, to John and Rachel Moore, and passed away peacefully in Bothell, Washington after a long and full life on June 16, 2018, age 94.

Bob served in the US Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, a Bronze Star Campaign Medal, and several other Medals for his honorable service.  He was severely wounded one week after being in theater near the Siegfried line in the early battle of the Rhineland.

Bob returned to attend college, graduated from USC, and entered the LA Fire Department.  He married Kathleen O’Neal on December 21, 1951.  They were blessed with four children, Kandis, Roderick, Jeffrey, and Scott.

Bob enjoyed his work and retired after 24 years of service.  The family relocated to Oregon and he worked as Deputy State Fire Marshall.

Bob and Katy had an active church life.  He was a student of the Bible, church elder, and Bible study leader.  He leaves behind devoted family and friends, and was known for his hard work, compassion in daily life and charitable giving, generosity, humor, and was a true gentlemen.

Bob is survived by daughter Kandi, sons Rod and Jeff, 9 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, sister Rae, son Scott, and grandson Daniel.

A man of many interests and involved in many activities including studying history, travel, Spanish language, photography, fly fishing, scuba diving, coin collecting, gardening, dancing and music.  He did them all well.

We are all saddened by his passing, admire his life and great attitude.  Deepest appreciation for the wonderful care at Bothell Way Lodge, Adult Family Home.

Our Dad, Grandpa, Pops, will be deeply missed and will live on through us in our thought and memories.
