Mona G. Larison Cooper

Mona G. Larison Cooper born September 2^nd 1933 in Nodaway County Sheridan, Mo. died at the age of 82 on Tuesday June 7^th, 2016 at the Evergreen Health hospice in Kirkland, WA. Mona was the daughter of Ames and Beulah (Wilson) Larison, Brother Darrell and Sister Lynda. Mona accepted Christ as her personal savior when she was 16 and at that time she became a member of the Blockton Christian Church. She graduated from Blockton High School in 1951 then attended AIB in Des Moines Register, (Better Home and Gardens) magazine as Dear Betty at the age of 17 before moving to Clarinda, Iowa to work at the Clarinda Mental Institute where she met and later married Jack W. Cooper on May 1^st of 1954. To this union Kelley Joe Cooper was born and later Bryan Ames Cooper was added to the addition of the family. She and Jack moved to Denver, Co in 1956 while there she worked at the Interstate National Bank. In 1968, the family moved permanently to Seattle, WA, where she and Jack became members of the Overlake Christian Church and was a member for over 40 yrs. where Mona volunteered her time every Monday as an accountant. –Faith was very important to her and was exemplified throughout her life. Mona loved life. She was fun-loving, played practical jokes, told stories and made life for everyone more enjoyable. She and her family enjoyed many camping expeditions in WA and all around the US. She liked to bowl with her team, read, play games and put puzzles together with her granddaughter Kennedy Cooper. She belonged to a local bible study group and had many friends from the local community and abound. She was the type of person that kept in touch with high-school friends and enjoyed traveling to Iowa to visit family. Her sparkling eyes and big smile made everyone’s day more beautiful and exciting. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, Brother Darrell, husband Jack and stepfather Harlan Freeman. She is survived by her daughter Kelley Jo Cooper, her son Bryan Ames Cooper, four grandchildren and one on the way, her sister Lynda and John Menefee, brother-in-law Rex and Ruth Cooper and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will be remembered and missed by those who loved her. She loved much and was much loved. She is at peace from suffering and is now home with the Lord and her loved ones.
