Irene Johnson died peacefully at the care center she was living at in Kirkland, WA on April 7th. Her only daughter Robin Hill was by her side when she drew her last breathe.
She was born in Minnesota, raised in Yakima and lived in Moses Lake for 40yrs. More recently, she moved to Woodinville to be close to family. For the last years she was able to see her grandchildren Jeff Hill and Courtney (Hill) Cossey and her husband Wayland, regularly. She also loved her time spent with her 3 great granddaughters; these were the moments when she was the happiest. Sierra, Colette and Cheyenne were the apple of her eye. Robin Hill, her only child and her husband Phil Hill were nearby and played a big role in her care. 
Irene was an avid quilter and all who know her have one or more quilts to wrap themselves in to be reminded of her.
Irene came from a large family of 14 kids. She was preceded in death by four of her siblings. A little over a week before she passed, three of her 
sisters traveled to Washington and spent time with her laughing, sharing childhood memories, and saying their final goodbyes.
Irene enjoyed reading as much as she liked to quilt, play bingo, cook and have her nightly ritual of watching Jeopardy. She followed the Seattle Mariners very closely. She had a great sense of humor, which was 
irreverent at times and could be bawdy. But she was treasured and loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on May 14th in Woodinville. Those interested in attending are welcome to contact Irene’s family for more details.

I have many memories of Irene’s fun loving spirit. From bowling together for many years to when she worked at Payless with my sister, Sandi.
Sorry to hear of her passing. I know she is in a wonderful place.

Yes we like to be there for Aunt Irene’s Memorial. We are so sad that we never had the Chance to visit with Aunt Irene.. We spent a lot of Time in Germany. Arnold is the Son of Dick Thiesfeld. We send all our Love and Prayers to Robin and her Family.
So sorry for your loss. When Dan & I retired, we bowled on the Senior League with Irene for a couple of years before she moved to be closer to her family! She certainly was a spunky lady & kept us laughing all the time. She always shared photos of her “greats” & other family! She was truly “one of a kind” that we really enjoyed knowing! RIP Irene.
Aunt Irene, you know I loved you and I know you loved me. You always watched out for me when I lived with you and Marion. Those were some of the best days of my life because you made me feel like I was special. I will see you someday on the other side where we all we be perfect again! Love, Ron Jr.
