Liv Angell (Jensen) Post
Liv Angell (Jensen) Post passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 26, 2016. Liv was born to Jakob Arthur and Else Marie (Angell) Jensen on May 31, 1937, at Laholmen in Finnmark, northern Norway. She grew up in this beautiful place with her siblings Aslaug, Ase, and Nils.
After completing business school in Norway, Liv’s adventurous spirit brought her to Seattle, where she met and married her husband, Donald Post, and they spent 50 loving years together. They made their home on Mercer Island where they raised their daughters, Trudy and Kristin.
Liv was a long time employee of Scan Design Furniture in Bellevue. Outside of work, Liv found many creative and active ways to enjoy life. She enjoyed sewing and other handcrafts, along with all her dear friends in the “Sewing Club”, and painting, including Norwegian Rosemaling. Very giving, she always had a “little something” for family and friends. Her heritage was very important to her, and she volunteered many hours at the Nordic Heritage Museum, and was an active member of the Sons of Norway fraternal organization.
Liv had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed her flowers and garden. Along with her family and many close friends, she spent many happy hours hiking, skiing, camping, sailing, and walking her dog. We will cherish these memories as we remember our much loved wife, mother, and Mormor.
Liv is survived by her husband, Donald, daughters Trudy Schmidt (Andy) and Kristin Post (Rob), grandsons Evan and Carsten Schmidt, and Tim and Justin Hearne. She is also survived by her sister Ase Roaldsand, and brother Nils Arthur Jensen, and many relatives in Norway.
A memorial service to celebrate Liv’s life will be held at 2pm, Fri. February 5th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 8501 SE 40th St., Mercer Island, WA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.

Post family, we are so sorry for your loss. I (Silvana) have many fond memories of Liv. She was a great mom and super friend. Although I hadn’t seen her or any of you in many years, I often think about all of you. I wish to thank you all for being such a great part of my growing up. Special thanks to Liv for being such a caring and giving person.
Liv was a beautiful loving person and will be missed….I will always remember the way she tilted her head and laugh.
So sorry to read of the death of Liv. A long ago friend who we enjoyed many good times together. Especially skiing with Liv and our other special Norwegian friends. Although our paths have not crossed for many years, special memories are kept forever.
