Karen Marie Holley Creech
Karen was born on December 31, 1959 in Los Angeles, CA, and passed away on October 17, 2015 in Shoreline, WA after a long illness. Karen’s elementary and high school education was in Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA, and middle school at the International School of Brussels, Belgium. Growing up she enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, and reading. She loved participating in school plays and Girl Scouts. Karen received her A.A. degree summa cum laude from Los Angeles City College in 1980, after which she attended the School of Nursing.
Karen married Glenn L. Creech, Jr., in 1991. They had two sons, David Charles Creech and Derek Daniel Creech. Karen was a homemaker much of her life, working in administrative and management support positions before marrying Glenn and after her boys were in school. She was devoted to her family, and continued to enjoy nature, gardening, reading, and being outdoors.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, in 2014. She is survived by her sons David and Derek, by her parents Gerry and Herb Holley of Mercer Island, WA, by her brother Christopher Holley of Everett, WA, and many loving cousins. Donations in Karen’s name can be made to the Arboretum Foundation, Seattle, WA or a charity of the donor’s choice. A memorial service for Karen will be held at 2PM, November 18, 2015, at Barton Family Funeral Service, 14000 Aurora Avenue N, Seattle, WA.
