Marlene Daisy Schmidt
Marlene Daisy Schmidt, age 80, passed away peacefully Monday, April 20th,
2015 while residing in her home in Bellevue, Washington.
Marlene was born May 28th, 1934 in Ballard, Washington, daughter of Raymond and Alice Johnson and younger sister to Delores. She attended Ballard High School and graduated with the class of 1952.
Marlene married Floyd L. Schmidt on August 29, 1953. They met in Seattle and were married 47 years until his death in 2000.
Marlene is survived by her sister Delores McKnight and Marlene’s four
loving children, Cheryle (Greg) Munson, Denise (Don) Boland, Donald
(Jeanne) Schmidt, Rhonda (Sean Moore) Dore and one grandson, Andrew (Kelly)Dore, a great-grandson, Archer Dore, and nieces, nephews, extended family and long-time friends.
Marlene adored children and after raising her own family she went on to
nanny for a neighboring family in Greenwood for many years.
Those who knew Marlene would describe her as positive, happy and having a great sense of humor. Marlene looked forward to the magic of Christmas each year. She was generous and enjoyed celebrating the holiday with her loved ones.
Marlene also loved the Seattle Seahawks. She has been their number one fan since the Seahawk’s first kick off in 1976. The family smiles while recalling that Marlene would never miss watching a game and refused to take calls at game time. She was over the moon when they arrived at the Super Bowl.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the dedicated and
sincere staff of Bellevue Sunrise Senior Living for their respectful care.
Our sincere condolences go out to all of Marlene’s friends and family. May your love for her and all of the happy memories you shared bring you comfort. We are thinking of you all. Love, Robin & Gary
I am so sorry to hear this news. Aunt Marlene was always cheerful and had a smile on her face. She was a great role model for all wives. She loved her kids and she loved her husband unconditionally. I know her and Uncle Floyd are together again. I’m thinking she is telling him everything that has happened since he’s been gone, and he is sitting there, head in his hands gazing lovingly into her eyes. Either that or he’s sitting there listening to her with a cold Rainier in his hand. Looking at her like he always did, with that twinkle in his eyes that was just for her
Your family has always been near & dear to my heart Denise. I was so sad to hear of your Mom’s passing. Having worked with your Dad at the gas station with Rich I got to know him better and we did have fun!
Your family had me over for many fun times and those times I will never forget.
My heart goes out to you, Cheryle, Don & Rhonda so much. Losing a parent who has been so close to you and raised you for so many years brings tears to my & your eyes but trust me, your Mom is in a GREAT place right now and feeling no pain. We will all together at some point laugh together again. Love all of you~~~~~Sherman
