Stephen Leroy Crumley
“What a Wonderful World”
Stephen Leroy Crumley went home to be with Jesus on January 17, 2015 at the age of 61. He was surrounded by the Love of God, his family and friends.
Steve grew up in the Seattle area and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1972. He was Captain of the football team and his love of the game continued throughout his life. This was one of his fondest memories and many of his teammates on that team remain lifelong friends. His favorite College football team was the Washington Huskies. “Go Dawgs!”
He joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he served his tour in Fulda, Germany. After 2 years he earned an honorable discharge. After his military service he became a licensed plumber in the states of Alaska, California and Washington. He was a hard worker and enjoyed providing for his family.
Steve was a dedicated father with an unconditional love for Lana and Terra. He was always there to encourage and bring out the good in all things. His devoted love will be passed down through the generations to come.
Steve fought a brave battle with cancer for over 5 years. By God’s healing grace and the love of friends and family he was able to fight the good fight of faith. His brave spirit was admired by many as they held him up in prayer. Now the battle is over and he is in heaven rejoicing.
Steve is survived by his daughters Lana and Terra, grandchildren Alec, Luis, Iyana, Kaden and Kisa. He is also survived by his sisters Donna and Judy.
Service is planned for Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 am and prior viewing is from 10:30 – 11:00 am, located at Generational Hope Christian Center in Maple Valley. The Graveside service will follow at Riverton Crest Cemetery, Tukwila.
There will be a display set up for anyone who has a momento or picture to share at the funeral.
A casual pot-luck celebration for Steve is being held in the home of a family member, following the services at Riverton Crest Cemetery. Please contact a family member for the details and address. Barton Funeral Home will forward any messages to the family. Thank you

What a truly sweet and true tribute to my brother, Steve. Simple and honest, loving and pure hearted, as was he. My lovely nieces, Lana and Terra, are his most precious gifts. He loved and loves you hard and true, and completely without any reserve or expectation, with a ferocity which will keep him within your hearts for the rest of your lives. His girls were his source of light. Uncle Hank was his mentor, (he told me so) and role model, as well as his friend and Steve was so grateful.
Steve is my big brother. He did a good job.
I knew Steve from junior high and high school. He was such a sweet guy. It was really great to see him at the 2012 Roosevelt HS reunion and get a chance to reminisce with him. RIP Steve – gone way too soon.
I miss you so.
