Szabolcs Zoltán Szilágyi, PhD, MBA

It is with profound sadness that the family of Szabolcs Zoltán Szilágyi announces his untimely passing onFebruary 22, 2026, at the age of 59.

A lifelong learner, Zoltán graduated from the Faculty of Physics in Bucharest, Romania and obtained a Doctorate in Physics from the University of South Paris, France. He later furthered his education by obtaining an MBA from Eastern Washington University. Zoltán worked for more than 20 years in the tight scientific community of Nion/Bruker in Kirkland.

His adventurous spirit took him to great heights, whether hiking rugged trails to reach the beautiful sights at mountain peaks or piloting airplanes at several thousand feet.

He is survived by his wife Diana, their daughter Dia, his mother Iolanda, his brother Csaba and his family, and his many friends with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. He will be greatly missed.

The Funeral Mass will be held in his native country of Romania.
