With profound love and gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Rosemary Winward Bean, born March 26, 1957, in Ogden, UT to Orson Airmet Winward and Beatrice Adams Winward.

Rose began her schooling at Lorin Farr Elementary and graduated from Ogden High School in 1975, where she proudly served as a Tigerette on the drill team. Her energy, warmth, and vibrant spirit was unmistakable.

In January 1982, while attending Brigham Young University Rose met the love of her life and true partner in crime, Timothy John Bean. They were engaged just months later in April and married on June 25, 1982. Their love story was one of devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership.

After graduation, Tim and Rose moved to Bellevue, WA to begin building their family. In their first six years there, they welcomed Geoffrey Timothy (1983), Daniel Joseph (1985), and Jessica Rose (1987). They later spent four years in Tualatin, OR, before settling in Redmond, WA their home for the last 35 years.

Rose was a devoted wife, cherished friend, loving mother, and proud Nana. She gave her life to serving those around her. She taught us how to love deeply and how to care for one another with intention and tenderness. She was there for every milestone — from life’s smallest victories to its most difficult heartbreaks — always ready with celebration, comfort, or quiet strength.

She was silly, spontaneous, and absolutely filled with love. Her joy was contagious, her compassion endless. Her presence brought comfort, and her faith carried her through life’s joys and trials with grace.

In March 2022, Rose was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. True to her nature, she chose to give everything she had to the fight, determined to extend her time with those she loved. Oh, how grateful we are for that time. Through one of the most difficult seasons of her life, we witnessed a strength and bravery in Rosemary that left us in awe. She faced each challenge with courage, grace, and an enduring love and gratitude for her family.

We will forever hold the love she poured into us in our hearts. Her legacy lives on in the way we love one another, care for each other, and find joy even in the smallest moments.

She is survived by her husband, Timothy John Bean; her son, (Geoffrey Timothy Bean and his wife, Helen Anne Bean, and their children, Emerson Ahn Bean, Norah Wolfe Bean, and Orion Geoffrey Bean, Laurelhurst, WA) her son, (Daniel Joseph Bean and his wife, Danielle Katherine Bean, and their children, Carter John Bean and Adalynn Kay Bean , Auburn, WA) and her daughter, (Jessica Rose Bean Merrell and her husband, Gary Richard Merrell, and their children, William Richard Merrell and Marcus Timothy Merrell, Renton, WA).

She is also survived by her cherished siblings Suzanne Neal, (Vernal, UT) Peggy Woods, (St. George, UT) Jannene and Dale Hurst, (Pleasant View, UT) Marilyn and Joe Behunin, (St. George, UT) Douglas Winward (Midvale, UT) and Cousin Shelly and Ron Tatton (Layton,  UT) Along with countless extended family members and dear friends whose lives were made better because of her.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Rose by brightening someone else’s day-  a simple act of kindness that reflects her generous heart.
