Robert Andrew Lindquist
Robert Andrew Lindqust of Kirkland, WA passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025 at the age of 96.
Robert was born in Honolulu, HI to Elizabeth and Andrew Lindqust on February 27, 1929 and was the eldest of two brothers. It was a beautiful place to grow up, but everything changed on December 7, 1941 with the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Robert was just 12 years old when he and his family fled to the mainland in the Bay Area after the attack. They returned to Honolulu and Robert graduated from St. Louis High School. In 1942, the family moved to Hayward, California and then Robert attended St. Mary’s College. He met and married Lorraine and they had two daughters. He and the family eventually relocated to the Pacific Northwest for a job opportunity. They settled in Issaquah, WA and had three more daughters.
Later Robert met his longtime friend and companion Kathy. Robert and Kathy shared many years together enjoying friends, church activities, and traveling together. They were members of St. Louise and St. Brendan’s parishes and were very involved with the Catholic Church. Robert was proud to be on call for the anointing of the sick and to pray with families. Kathy provided Robert with kindness, care, and friendship until Robert needed additional assistance. He eventually moved to Heritage House in Seattle, where he resided for 5 years and received the utmost care. Kathy never hesitated to drive in traffic to downtown Seattle to make sure Robert had company and had what he needed, often bringing his favorite foods like chicken teriyaki and coconut crème pie.
In August 2025, Robert moved to an adult family home in Burien where he could receive more direct care. His caregivers were wonderful and treated him with dignity. Eventually his age and his health deteriorated.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Andrew Lindquist, and his brother, Jim Lindquist.
Robert is survived by his loving companion, Kathy, and his five daughters Annette (Fred), Deborah, Karen (Pat), Teri (Ron), and Monica (Bob), 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
