Jill Elizabeth West, 79, of Kirkland, WA, passed away on November 29, 2025.
Jill was born on February 19, 1946 in Seattle, WA to Martin Justin Ryan and Edna Kate Donalda Verge, the youngest of their 4 children. Jill was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1964, went on to study at the University of Washington for 2 years and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Central Washington State College in 1968. Jill married George Milton West on July 13, 1968. She worked as a teacher, mostly with younger elementary students, but was truly a career mother.
Throughout her life, Jill was known for her love of her family, particularly her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed coffee and lunch dates with friends, playing tennis, knitting, reading, spending time at her beach house on Camano Island as well as traveling with her husband. Jill also devoted countless hours to serving on the PTA when her children were in school. Most who knew Jill can likely remember a favorite recipe of hers as she loved to share her delicious cooking with all.
Jill is survived by her three children-Matthew, Kelcy (Jeff) and Nicolas (Kristina), and four grandchildren-Ellie, Lucy, Hayley and Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, George and siblings, Jan, Larry and Judy and parents.
A celebration of life will be held on December 28, 2025 from 1pm-3pm at The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Jill’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Brain Foundation.
