Kris Worthington, 53, of Woodinville, WA, passed away on September 21, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in Seattle on February 25, 1972, Kris was the son of David Worthington and the late Bonnie Bryant. He was a proud graduate of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, where he earned his B.B.A. He went on to complete certifications in Business Intelligence and Data Architecture at Villanova University.

Kris built a successful career through his strong work ethic and leadership. He held business intelligence roles at T-Mobile and Expedia before joining Starbucks, where he spent 10 fulfilling years and was promoted to Director in 2020.

Above all, Kris was devoted to his family. He was the proud father of Jordan Worthington, whom he recently walked down the aisle at her wedding to Marques Herrera—a joyful milestone he cherished. He and his daughter Jordan also shared a competitive spirit, playing hours of H.O.R.S.E together on the basketball court and hundreds of games of Backgammon and Skip-Bo. He was also the loving father of Kirkman Worthington, with whom he shared fishing adventures, movie nights, and countless hours of gaming on their favorite oversized couch.

An avid skier, Kris developed a passion for the slopes through trips with his father, brother, and stepmom to Whistler. He also inherited from his dad a deep appreciation for wine, a joy he shared with his brother Jeff during tastings close to home and in France and Italy. A dedicated runner and hiker, Kris treasured his daily dawn runs and many hikes throughout the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Janine and their dog Ripley.

Kris is survived by his wife, Janine Worthington; his Father, David Worthington; his children, Jordan, and Kirkman; his stepsons, Drew and Alex Robertson; his brother, Jeff Worthington; brother-in-law, Ekko Jirapongpan; stepmother, Bonnie Worthington; and his faithful dog, Ripley, for whom he threw thousands of frisbees.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cancer Pathways in Kris’s memory.

I had the honor of being Kris’ colleague at Starbucks for nearly 7 years. He was a consummate professional, key to the complete transformation of our part of the business. And while he was a massive contributor and thoughtful leader, what truly set Kris apart was his supernatural ability to bring incredible positivity and humor to our every day, bar none no. Kris was an inspiration, an unassuming role model, and could change anyone’s day for the better with his smile and laugh.

    Rest in power, Mr. Worthington.

It was truly an honor to work with you during our time at Starbucks together. I enjoyed the many connects over our mutual love for basketball. You were always so proud of your daughter’s adventures with the sport. Rest in peace, Kris. You will be missed.

A masterful storyteller, a devoted and proud father, an avid runner, a connoisseur of wine — and above all, a truly extraordinary human being.
You radiated warmth and light, lifting spirits with your kindness, your positivity, and your unwavering support. You didn’t just walk into a room — you brightened it. You didn’t just help — you uplifted.
Your impact on those around you is immeasurable. You were a shining star, and your absence leaves a space that words cannot fill. To say you will be missed is a major understatement.
    Rest easy, dear friend.
