John “Carl” Meyersahm passed away at the age of 73 on August 6, 2025, at his Benevolent Adult Family Home in Kirkland, Washington, due to complications from Lewy Body disease and Parkinson’s.

Carl is survived by his former wife, Donna Meyersahm; his three daughters, Anne Meyersahm, Jeane Meyersahm, and Mary Meyersahm; his grandchildren, James Hill, Alicia Meyersahm Hill, Dylan Wagoner, and Khloee Wagoner; and his great-grandsons, Mason Alexander Ford and Austyn James Ford. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Meyersahm and Curt Meyersahm; and his sister Mary Hance.

Born on August 25, 1951, in San Francisco, California, Carl was the eldest of three siblings. He graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1969 and attended Washington State University before transferring to the University of Washington, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business. Carl worked at the Port of Seattle for 30 years before retiring.

Known for his dry wit and sharp intellect, Carl possessed a photographic memory. His passion for music allowed him to recall the title and lyrics of nearly any song. He was an avid reader, a dedicated baseball card collector, and a walking encyclopedia of facts. Carl loved to travel, especially on road trips, stopping at every scenic viewpoint to take in the beauty of the coast and mountains. Above all, he was a dreamer.

We say goodbye to a brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. May he rest in peace.
