Ruth Wako
Ruth Wako passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Seattle, Washington, after a long and courageous battle with lupus. She was 52 years old.
Born in Ascot, London, on September 12, 1972, Ruth was the beloved daughter of Aster and the late Solomon. She spent her early years surrounded by family, faith, and a love for learning. Ruth pursued her education at Walla Walla Community College where she earned her LPN degree before continuing at Washington Adventist University in Tacoma Park, Maryland.
Though trained as a nurse, Ruth’s greatest calling was as a homemaker, where she poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home. Her life was deeply rooted in her faith as a devoted Seventh-day Adventist, and she shared her love for God through her generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Ruth was also a gifted cook—known for creating meals that nourished both body and soul—and she found joy in reading and spending time with loved ones.
Ruth is survived by her mother, Aster, and her siblings Elsie, Obol, Hanna and Ephrem and Gennut. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, deep faith, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on August 19, 2025. Flowers may be sent to her home.
Ruth’s life was a testament to her incredible strength, boundless love, and enduring grace. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Words cannot express the deep joy that I feel when I think of my memories with Ruthie. She was a beautiful soul, passionate, and good cook to the nines! I will never forget her beautiful speaking voice! Her warm tones as she would recite…
“If I tell you that I’m sorry, would you forgive me? If tears drip from my eyes and dance upon my trembling thighs would you claim my words or lies or is it true love never dies.”
Her love will live on in my heart. I send my condolences to the family. ♥️

Oh my heart! This young lady was one of the most loving people I knew. Her soothing voice calmed any heart. Although my heart is broken, I look forward to sitting next to her on the sea of glass catching up. Many blessings to the family. Please receive my condolences.
Ruthiekoo!!! I met you for the first time when you honored me by being the flower girl at my wedding. You were such a bubbly loving little girl who smiled with her big and beautiful eyes.
You cried when it was time for us all to leave and I remember how much I was touched, thinking such a little girl full of love that she cannot tolerate goodbyes.
Since then whenever we meet you welcomed me with your infectious smile, a big hug and of course your delicious homemade culinary delights. You love and laugh loudly and tell actual stories with funny twists and color. Through all the pain you endure, you smiled and never complained to me.
You had an amazing shining personality a big sense of humor and a very strong unwavering faith in your Christian believes.
You had genuine love for all, especially your family. I’m grateful to join and be a member of your family. I will Cherise so many memories I have of you Ruthie!
Rest in heavenly peace my beautiful.
