Steven Dale Wood was born on November 18, 1960, in Loma Linda, CA, to Gale and Beverly (Jordan) Wood. Steve spent his early days in Fontana, CA before moving to Coralville, IA, then settled in Edmonds, WA.
Steve never married but was a fierce loving family man. He took great joy in spending time with his family and played an integral part in raising his nephews. His influence on their lives has been significant and lasting.
Steve was a garden enthusiast, but producing tomatoes each year and sharing with neighbors and friends was his favorite. He enjoyed being out in the sun and landscaping as well. He had a great sense of humor and was a “poet that didn’t know it”.
Steve was a union worker for 18yrs before retiring in January 2025. He enjoyed working with all his friends over the years. He was well loved by his friends.
Steve is survived by his mother, Beverly Wood of Solon; siblings Greg (Sharon) Wood of Coralville, IA, Julie (Paul) Wolf of Edmonds, WA, Kathy Wagamon of Coralville, IA, Jeff Wood of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jon (Tracy) Wood of Victor, IA; nephews Joshua (Bree) Wood, Alexander (Rory) Wolf, Nathan (Baylee) Wagamon, Michael (Katie) Wolf, Brendan (Andrea) Wood; nieces Jessica Wood, Brittney (Brandon) Schafbuch.
Steve passed away at the age of 64 on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at home in Edmonds, WA with his family surrounding him. He is preceded in death by his father, Gale Wood.
Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
There will be a celebration of Life in Edmonds, WA at a later date.
