In Loving Memory of Karleen Ann Randall (née Kaldestad). It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karleen, a beloved mother, daughter, and friend. She left us peacefully on January 10th 2025 in Edmonds, WA, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on March 19, 1944, in Seattle, Washington, Karleen lived a life rooted in the Pacific Northwest, where she built lasting memories and connections.

Raised in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA, Karleen grew up in a Norwegian American family deeply connected to the sea. Her father, Karl J Kaldestad was a well-known fisherman in the community, and she inherited his love for the water. The serene views of the Puget Sound always brought her peace and joy. Her mother, Mae Ann Christian, was a mother and homemaker.

A graduate of Ballard High School, Karleen carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life.  She found joy in simple pleasures, especially shopping and finding unique treasures that brought joy to her and those around her.

Karleen’s love for animals was evident in the way she cared for her beloved miniature poodle “Nikki” and supported animal charities. She had a special place in her heart for all creatures, big and small.

Karleen had a passion for many things in life. Her family and friends will always remember her for her kindness, generosity, and the warmth she brought into their lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be in our hearts. Karleen will be lovingly remembered by her sons Kameron and Kalen her daughter-in-law Emily, and her beautiful grandchildren Karl and Lauren. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial gathering to honor Karleen’s life will be held on June 5th at 11:30 at Arnie’s Restaurant, located at 300 Admiral Way, Edmonds, Washington 98020.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Providence Swedish Cancer Institute in Karleen’s memory. Rest in peace, Karleen. You will always be loved and remembered.
