She was a resident of Edmonds Washington at Prestige Rehabilitation Center, and previously resided in Everett, and Lake Stevens.  Prior to relocating to Washington State, Mary resided in Baton Rouge, Gibsland, Arcadia, Athens, and Rougon, Louisiana.

Mary was a retiree of the State of Louisiana, Department of Group Benefits, and enjoyed helping people with their insurance and providing presentations to State agencies.  Earlier in life, she was an employee of the Louisiana Army Ammunitions Plant “Shell Plant” in Minden LA.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, friend to many, and is survived by her daughter, Kelly Day of Ruston, LA, brother, Reverend Jeff Day of Baton Rouge, LA, three grandchildren, Alex Useman of Lynnwood, WA, Emily Useman of Baton Rouge, William Useman of Los Angeles, CA, nephew, Forrest Day and wife, Valerie, great niece, Caitlyn Benard and husband, Roman, of Lexington KY, and best friend, Dean Moberly of Baton Rouge.

Although Mary struggled for most of her life with health issues including Multiple Sclerosis, she always had a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eyes, and a joke or ten to make people laugh.  Mary, known as “Gigi” to her grandchildren, worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ and made it her mission to witness and share the “good news” of Jesus to others.   Her greatest hope and prayers for her family and for all people is to love the Lord with all your heart, all your soul, and all of your mind.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th at 5:00-6:00 pm at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia LA.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 11:00 am at Gibsland First Baptist Church with Rev. Mom, I will be the first to sign your guestbook. You were there when I took my first breath, and I was there when you took your last. In between the 63 years, you were there, encouraging me, my biggest cheerleader, my best friend, a woman of faith who I learned from to put God first in all that I do. You worked two jobs your entire life to ensure that I had every opportunity to become successful in life until you were plagued by health conditions that would no longer allow you to work or even stand on your own two feet. But even through all of those years of torment that you endured, you NEVER took your eyes off of Jesus and witnessed to so many people from your bed who had never even heard of the “good news”. For hours before you passed away, I saw the pain on your face and how difficult it was to endure; but, at your last breath, I saw your mouth smile, and your face lit up that looked like a child and I knew that you saw Jesus. Mom, I still feel you and know that you will forever be in my heart, your grandchildren’s heart, and all who you have touched with your love, kindness, and love of Christ. I’ll see you again soon, Mom. I will always love you.
