Regina passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024.

Regina was born in Florida to Alfred and Agnes (Walsh) Guthrie, on November 14, 1935. She was raised alongside her 11 brothers and sisters in New York. She attended Bellevue School of Nursing where she graduated with high marks in 1958. After graduating from nursing school, Regina relocated to California, first Oakland then San Diego. One of her favorite adventures was traveling cross country by bicycle from New York to California. Regina then moved from San Diego to Denver, CO where she met and married her husband of 58 years, Harold Hines. Together, they raised 7 children.

In 1984, Regina and family relocated to Marysville, WA where she worked as an in-home nurse for disabled children. She felt her work, caring for disabled babies, was so important that she continued to work until she retired in 2009. She and Harold moved into assisted living together in 2015 and stayed together until Harold passed away in 2021.

Regina has been described as sweet and funny. She was always singing and ended every gathering with a rendition of her favorite song, ‘Goodnight, Sweetheart.’ She loved her siblings, children, and grandchildren with all her heart. Regina also loved her name and often introduced herself as ‘The Queen’ because her name is on British coins.

Regina is survived by her children; Kym Hines, Linda (Brent) Dippie, Cheryl (Dave) MacIntyre, Brenda Hines, Doug (Katherine) Hines, Kristin (Russ) Farnsworth, Michael Hines, her 9 grandchildren, Zachory, Korrie, Morgan, Sara, Ben, Malik, Jacob, Moses, Emma, siblings, Mary Jane Hansen, Marguerite Mohan, Richard Paul Guthrie, Ellen Marie Ricci, and John Guthrie. Regina’s nieces and nephew are too numerous to count! She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents, Alfred and Agnes, her siblings, Father Ray, Gerard, Rita Curtin, Eugene, Kenny and Kevin.
