Nancy Lucht

Nancy Lucht of Kirkland WA passed away on September 9, 2024.

Born August 15, 1939 in Meadville, Missouri to Alfred and Clara Arline Fruin, she always spoke fondly of the small town she grew up in.  Her family included her brother John (Jack). They moved to Colby, Kansas, where she graduated High School and later from Kansas State University where she was in the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She loved to recall driving through Kansas in one of the first Ford Mustangs ever made. As she went through one small town just as school let out, an entire parade of high school kids followed her to check out the car.  Her sons and oldest grandson inherited her love for the Ford Mustang.

She moved to Denver, Colorado, after graduating where she worked as an English teacher and met Hubert Lucht (d. 2014) whom she married in 1965. Nancy and Hubert had two sons, Brian and Jonathan.  They moved to the then rural town of Parker, Colorado, in the 1970s where Nancy ran the local Radio Shack and T-shirt shop for several years.  Their most popular T-shirt was the humorous “Where the hell is Parker, Colorado?”. After selling the store, she worked in the office of Ave Maria Catholic church. She loved spending time with her sons and adored her grandchildren.

After her husband’s death, Nancy moved to Castle Rock, Colorado, to be closer to Jonathan and his family, later to Kirkland, Washington, right next door to Brian and his family. She was afflicted with deteriorating dementia for several years but was well taken care of by Brian and his family. She passed away peacefully in her home with family at her side.  She is survived by Brian, his wife Jill, their son Evan and daughter Joanna, Jonathan and his sons Connor and Paxton.

She led a great life, was much loved, and will be greatly missed.
