Donna Jean Carris

Donna peacefully passed away early Monday, August 26, 2024 at her home in Renton, WA. She was 93.

Donna was born in Detroit, MI on Oct 2, 1930 to Eslow and Alta (Sanders) Richards. The family moved to Moscow, MI where she spent her childhood working on the family farm. She graduated from High School in Jonesville, MI, she attended Michigan State and then International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN.  On August 25, 1950 she married Gerald (Jerry) Carris. They were married for 59 years and had 3 children.

In 1966 the family moved to the Seattle area where Donna worked and retired from The Boeing Company. She loved to garden, square dance, and travel. After retiring, she and Jerry traveled the country in their motor home and spent winters in AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, brother Duane (Frances) Richards, and great-Granddaughter Caroline Carris. She is survived by son Jim (Kathy) Bellevue, WA; and daughters Linda Kendall Wenatchee, WA; and Lorre (Jeff) Prince Daytona Beach, FL;  12 Grandchildren;  24 Great-Grandchildren; and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Per Donna’s wishes, there will be a private family inurnment ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, WA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Donna Carris to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center
