Larry L. Waggie, age 80, of Newell, Iowa, went to his repose on Thursday August 1, 2024 at his residence in Bothell, Washington under the tender care of Patty, his beloved wife of almost 50 years. He was born March 24, 1944 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the fourth son of the late Roy and Dora (Beckfield) Waggie.

Larry was a graduate of Newell High School. He attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake and later completed an Associates of Arts Degree at Western Montana college with a special interest in Sociology. He enlisted into the Air Force in 1966, serving as a Sergeant at George AFB in California training in computer programming. He married Patricia Wick on December 7, 1974 at Victorville Assembly of God in California. This August marks their 50th year from when they started dating.

Larry worked for 23 years as a computer programmer and accountant mostly at Barrett Minerals Inc. in Dillon, Montana. During this time, he became a Dale Carnagie Professional Course Graduate. He was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying the treasures Montana had to offer in creation including mining sapphires, rock hounding for garnets and other gems. He was an outdoorsman enjoying time with his family and extended Wick and Waggie family on these adventures.  His Iowa farm roots followed him to his ¼ acre he loved to garden with his wife. He was a proud father and grandfather of two daughters and four grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife Patty; devoted daughters Dottie and Sarah; cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Quentin, and Caelyn as well as his eldest brother Roger Waggie and numerous extended family and dear friends.

He lived faithfully serving the Lord. His Personal Mission Statement written in 1994 is: To be a disciple of my Lord Jesus Christ and have Him say: “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” To be a good son of my Father and a joy to the Holy Spirit. This includes all areas (roles in) of life including here and hereafter.

Larry would encourage us to pursue our salvation and peace with God living out our faith to help lift one another up as brothers and sisters in Christ. A few of his favorite Scriptures include: Psalm 91, Jeremiah 29:11, and Isaiah 40:31.

A private family graveside burial will be held Monday August 12th in Brewster, Washington.
