Peggy and Pete

Peggy Eileen Martin passed away on July 27, 2024. On that day, the world lost an amazing woman, and God gained a special angel at 10:23 am. Peggy was born on May 11, 1950, in Sacramento, California, to Shird and Eva Eldridge. Peggy spent her childhood and teenage years growing up in California. She graduated from Rio Americano High School in June of 1968 and then attended American River Junior College. On July 31st of 1968, Peggy met Peter Nelson Martin while swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. They were attached to the hip from that day forward, and thus a beautiful love story began.

Pete and Peggy were married on June 26, 1971, in Sacramento, California. They started their family on May 1, 1973, with the birth of their first son. Pete and Peggy lived in multiple states before Pete’s job brought them to Bothell, Washington on February 14, 1987. At that time, they had already brought two daughters and another son into this world. Their last child, a son, was born in July of 1988. Their family was now complete.

Peggy was a stay-at-home Mom and housewife from the beginning. She knew she wanted to raise her children and support her husband in this way. A beautiful wife, a loving mother, and an eventual Nonna, Peggy was the rock and glue that held the family together. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader and the toughest, strongest Mama Bear you could ever meet. She would, and did, give her life for her family. She loved volunteering at her church, children’s schools, and attending all their school and sporting events. Family time consisted of home-cooked meals, playing games, and going on numerous vacations. One of her favorite places to visit was Waldport, Oregon.

In her later years, after her children were grown, she and Pete loved to travel and took multiple trips, as well as went on various cruises. They loved getting to visit their two grandchildren as well. Pete was the love of her life, and she was his. They were married for 53 years until her passing.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Shird and Eva Eldrige, her son, Peter Martin, and her grandchild, Aspen Jade Martin. She is survived by her loving husband, Pete, her daughters, Amy and Annen Martin, her sons, Preston and Patrick Martin, and her two beautiful grandchildren, Savannah and Grayson Martin, who belong to Preston.

She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. ~ Forever in our hearts. ~

Peggy’s funeral mass will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Woodinville, Washington. Her burial will take place on that day at 11:00 am, at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline, Washington.
