Michael J. Budden
Michael J. Budden passed away on January 1st, 2024, in Seattle, WA at the age of 74. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, and resided in nearby Okemos for most of his life.
Mike was a passionate sports fan. His favorite teams were those of his kids, and Mike did everything he could to never miss a game. For many years, he acted as Santa’s helper, extending Christmas joy to young and old at family parties and various functions. But Mike was always happiest behind the wheel of a pontoon touring School Section Lake, cooking, and spending time with those he loved.
Mike also led a decades long career in banking across Mid-Michigan and loved volunteering throughout his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Elizabeth; son Todd of Petoskey, MI; and daughter Tracey (Brady Anderson) of
Seattle, WA as well as his beloved grandson, Matthew. He will also be missed by his siblings Kathy (Tom) Kirksey; Tom Budden and Sally (Maurice) Klein in addition to many nephews, nieces, extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, MI on April 20th, 2024, at noon. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family welcomes you to share memories of Mike and volunteer in your local community in his honor.

Mike & I were first cousins. (His Dad & my Mom were siblings.) One of my earliest memories is visiting Mike at Henry Ford Hospital in 1957 after his brain tumor surgery. Mike was 8, I was 3.
