Gerard “Gerry” Sison Lataquin Ranches
Gerard “Gerry” Sison Lataquin Ranches’ love of life did not end with his death. A kind and caring person to all who met him and a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, cousin and friend. He suddenly left this world on December 27,2022 at the age of 45 surrounded by loved ones who will continue his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Despite the pain, Gerry came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
He was born to Roy and Louella Ranches on December 22,1977. He left the Philippines at a young age to pursue a life in California, leaving his family behind. They would eventually reunite years later when he moved to the pacific northwest to get close to his parents and siblings. This is where he eventually met the LOVE OF HIS LIFE, Diane on an AOL chat through a mutual friend. After years of dating they married and had a wonderful son, Dylan, soon after. Both of them stood by his side and had countless memories together as family ever since. He was well driven and ambitious at his job as a lead facility at Seagen, working many hours to support his family.
The simplest things in life brought joy to Gerry. Whether spending time and driving 2+ hrs to Canada to visit family and Diane almost every day. To eating, drinking, and singing karaoke with friends and cousins during the weekends and holidays. He loved KFC, which was a staple at the Ranches household, and “Nilaga” (Filipino beef soup dish) which he requested at every visit. Gerry also loved having nostalgic conversations about marvel/dc comics, 80s & 90s cartoons, and old classic toys, which he was fond of collecting.
A genuinely generous and warm-hearted person, he was a big brother, or Kuya, to everyone he met. He will be dearly missed to an overwhelming number of people who’ve had the privilege of being part of his life – especially Gerry’s son in whom he imparted his values in life, kindness, and sense of humor and saw his dad as his very own superhero. Fly high Gerry for this not goodbye but just until we meet again.
