Hello Mary, 4-21-24
My name is Joe Higgins, San Francisco. I am 78 now. I was 13 when I met Tim he was 18 or 19 when I remember him at his parents beautiful cabin on Trout Road in Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe. My great uncle, Ralph and Vera Cutting, had a cabin right next door. Visiting and meeting the Newcombs was always a treat. Clara had a little Yorkie named “Minta”. She and Phil were very hospitable. Tim showed me how to procure “helgrimites”
from a stream and use them as live bait to catch trout. He also served the forestry service by standing shift work in a fire tower, near Kings Beach, as lookout for forest fires in the summer months, over Lake Tahoe. I was in awe.
I have read his obituary and it doesn’t surprise me of the wonderful life journey
he had. I can only imagine you had a blessed life with him as his wife and mother of your children. I always thought he would be an exceptional person. His faith in Christ Jesus, no doubt, gave him the road map to a wonderful life …. with you, family and friends. Wonderful blessings.
These are my fondest memories, I won’t forget.
Wishing the Very Best,
Joe Higgins. (Wife Kathie)
