Marian Rae Young

Marian Rae Young passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17th, 2020.  She was born on April 21st, 1959 in Sedro Wooley, WA, and was raised in Newhalem, WA.

She graduated from Western Washington University in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, and from Seattle University in 1998 with a Master’s degree in Theology.

Marian devoted her work and volunteer life to the service of others.  She worked for Human Life of Washington, The Archdiocese of Seattle, Sacred Heart Parish, St. Anne Parish, and volunteered many hours at Holy Family Kirkland.

She always had a great sense of humor and a fantastic sense of style.  Marian loved her family, her British heritage, and game nights with friends.

Preceded in death by her parents John (Jack) and Rose Young, and her sister Veronica Russell.  Survived by her brother Dennis Young, sisters Catharine Herbold, Cecelia Gardner, and Michelle Welch, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3rd at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Kirkland, WA, followed by a celebration of life in the parish center.  In lieu of flowers, please gift Sophia’s Way or The National Kidney Foundation
