ADAM SCOTT BLOOM
MAY 13, 1960 – FEBRUARY 6, 2017
Adam Scott Bloom, a beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the age of 56. He was born May 13, 1960 in Encino, California and died on February 6, 2017. Adam is survived by his siblings, Stephen, Karen, Randi, Rexford, Jonathan, Duff and Drew. He also leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Allan Ira Bloom, MD, his mother Wilma “Billie” Morgan Bloom, his half-brother Peter, and his twin sister Amy.
Adam’s greatest pleasure was seeing and hearing about his many family members, especially his nieces and nephews. Stories and photos would always bring a big smile to his face. One of Adam’s shining attributes was that he always took great pleasure in others’ good fortune knowing that they enjoyed a life that he would never enjoy or experience.
Adam loved books, was an avid reader and had an encyclopedic mind. He was the person you would call for that esoteric question that you didn’t know the answer to. And Adam had an eclectic appreciation of music and an extensive collection; with some lovely music playing in the background, it was always a pleasure to visit Adam.
And Adam was a fighter! He lived with pain, discomfort and indignities throughout his life and never ushered a single complaint. He was a caring man, and he was loved deeply by his family and friends. We like to imagine that Adam is now in a perfect body . . . running and jumping and dancing . . . with his heart full of happiness and joy and freedom!
As Adam requested, there will be no formal services. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and/or United Cerebral Palsy.
