Donna Crabtree

Donna Crabtree was born on January 13, 1969 in Detroit, Michigan and departed this world on June 19, 2016 in Seattle, Washington. Donna was a passionate “girl, lady, woman, friend, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, and student, but most importantly – wife”. She had many favorite quotes and words of wisdom such as, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” The 10% was looked at as a challenge to overcome, not an obstacle in her way. The 90% was full of zest, love, and excitement. Donna was spontaneous and willing to try almost anything, aside from vegetables. She loved and was loved unconditionally by those who knew her. She inspired not only her students, but everyone with her kind heart and never ending drive to lift others up to their best potential.

Donna’s family would like to thank her colleagues in Edmonds School District for their unwavering support of Donna from the moment she started student teaching at Chase Lake Elementary all the way through her time teaching in the Intermediate Intensive Social Emotional Support classroom at Lynndale Elementary. Her school was her extended family and she cared deeply about the staff and students. They would also like to thank all of the medical professionals who cared for, and about, Donna through her journey with cancer.Donna and Kate

I was one of her students at Lynndale Elementary from 2014 to 2016 and she was the greatest teacher I’ve had. She pushed me to be a great person and always do the right thing and I thank the people that helped her. I wish her family the best.
