Betty Winters

Betty  (Billie)  (Pizor)  Winters   Born 10/4/1924  Passed  peacefully 10/3/2015. Until recently, she resided in her Leschi home.  She graduated from Garfield High School in  1941; modeled and was employed by Hy-Lo Fashions and Moss Apparel.  She enjoyed several  Seattle restaurant positions, including The Dinner Bell, Ivar’s and was a receptionist @ Seattle Town & Country Club. During her years in restaurants, she met many celebrities who appeared @ venues in the City.  Billie delighted in gardening, travel, cooking, music, family, close friends and neighborhood children.  She and her Mom, Mabel, were always our  Fashionistas.    She had a real affection for the City of Seattle; sometimes saddened by its rapid growth, but always proud to be a resident.  Confined to a wheelchair with multiple sclerosis, beginning in mid-life, she rarely complained.  Billie is survived by a Cousin, June Tonkin; Seattle, Lynn Strong;  Portland, Barbara Jones; Reedley, CA plus a dear Friend from Garfield High School days, June Jensen.   Grateful thanks to caregivers from Catholic Community Services: Bea, Mary Beth, Alisha.   Faithful and caring neighbors:  Anthony and Rick, Ingrid and Diedra,  Kat and Belinda.  Added appreciation to the caring Staff @Queen Anne Healthcare;   Providence (Cherry Hill) Hospice  and always supportive long-time friends, Lisa and Denise.   Remembrances may be made to:
The Multiple Sclerosis Society    Providence Hospice of Seattle  or the Charity of your choice.     “Billie: You were, and will continue to be, an inspiration to each Life you touched.  Thanks for the Memories.”
