Richard M. Newton
And so he paddled on
Richard M. Newton, a man who said that on three separate occasions in life that he thought he ‘knew everything’ before re-grounding himself and admitting there were still things he needed to learn, paddled on into the greater unknown at 8:50am on July 16th, 2015. A man whose insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to read more books every year than most will read in a lifetime, will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and all those who were blessed by the chance to know him.
His quirky fondness
For humorous verse
Will live on forever
Come better come worse
YLS, Edward

It was a pleasure to spend days on the river with Dick on trips with Paddle Trails Canoe Club. He really enjoyed being on a remote river with friends. He will be missed.
Was wondering why I couldn’t reach him from
my world travels! Great tandem paddling partner
and friend with whom I’ve shared some other crazy adventures too.
I’ll miss the guy!
