Paul Francis Nikolaisen
Paul Francis Nikolaisen “Pops”, 76, passed away peacefully November 13th, 2014, at home in Renton with his family and his trusty basset hound “Skittles” by his side.
He was born March 10th, 1938 in Seattle to August and Flora Nikolaisen. One of 12 children. Paul grew up in South Seattle and only left to attend seminary school in Santa Barbara. When he returned, he went on to work as a Chief Warehouser for the City of Seattle, where he proudly worked for more than 30 years and retired from.
For more than 45 years, he made Renton his home where he raised his two sons, Eric and Paul and became a friend and father figure to their friends, earning the nickname and will always be remembered by everyone as “Pops”. During the last few years of his life, he could be seen walking his beloved hound from one side of Renton to the other, every day, rain or shine, making friends everywhere they went. He will be missed.
He is survived by his sons Eric and Paul David, Brothers Albert and Richard, Sisters Mary, Francis and Lydia and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be held on December 3rd at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Renton. Following the service, a celebration honoring Paul, will continue in the church hall from 12pm to 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in memorial of Paul to your favorite charity.
