Linda Joyce Redding

Linda Redding

Linda Joyce Redding, affectionately known as Ninny to her family, received her angel wings on Saturday, October 20th, 2012.

Our Ninny was born in Hadly, Illinois in 1940 to Wayne and Ruby Johnson.  She is survived by her twin sisters, Sharen (Dave) Sabin and Karen (Bill) Nacht and her brother Roger (Elaine) Johnson.  She was preceded in death by her best friend and sister, Janet Rutledge, her brother Melvin Johnson, and her beloved dog Sweet Pea who we know was so happy to see her again.

She is survived by her partner and friend, Gregg Stock, her daughters, Jennifer Redding and Natalie (Rob) Coan, her wonderful twin grandchildren, Lindsay and Brandon Abila, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Linda was creative and talented.  She could re-purpose just about anything and turn it into something amazing and beautiful.    Decorating and gardening were just two of her many joys.  She also loved cooking, sewing and was passionate about politics.

She adored her grandchildren and was so proud to watch them grow and become the fine young adults they are today. That adoration was mutual and Lindsay and Brandon have very special memories of their Grammy.

We will miss you more than mere words can express.  Not a day will pass where we won’t talk to you.  Thank you for your love and laughter, Mama.  You will always be our hero.
A private memorial will be held.

Remembrances may be made in Linda’s name to your favorite charity.

I want you to know that I sincerely send my condolences. I know what a very deep and loving relationship you had with you mom. The void in your heart must be tremendous. I wish you the love and peace she would want you all to share.
