Yvette Jeanne Coopee

 

IMG_3055Yvette Jeanne Coopee, age 95, died on March 26, 2015 in Redmond, WA.

She was born in Holyoke, MA on November 13, 1919. She graduated from Saint Anne Academy in Marlborough and received her RN from Providence Hospital in Holyoke in 1942.

Yvette married Chester Joseph Coopee on August 14, 1943; they were married 56 years until his death in 1999.

With her husband Chester, Yvette started and operated the Falls Nursing Home in South Hadley and Chapel Hill Nursing Home in Holyoke for 25 years. She was active in the American College of Nursing Home Administrators.

Yvette is survived by her children Gail Coopee of Bothell, Washington and Kevin Coopee of Takilma, Oregon; her granddaughter Kerry Christianson of Seattle, and many nieces and nephews.

Yvette is preceded in death by her parents Rose and Ovila Cote; her husband Chester; two brothers Roger and Roland Cote; and a sister Theresa Szalowski.

She was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Donations for Masses to be offered in Yvette’s name may be made to the Sisters of Precious Blood, Manchester, NH (603) 623-4264.

The family of Yvette Jeanne Coopee wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Valley Vista Adult Family Home in Redmond, and the caring team at Evergreen Hospice Care in Kirkland, for the excellent and loving care they gave to Yvette.

    Your mother was a very special, loving lady. I had the honor to meet her and share family genealogy about 30 yrs. ago in Florida. She was an inspiration to me and everyone around her. Her husband, Chet, was my cousin on the Coopee side. They made a darling couple!
